Tools built by an engineer, for engineers.
Hi, I’m Isai. I’m an electrical engineer in Ventura County, California, and I started ProtoCrate because I kept running into the same problem: bench tools and electronics that were either cheap and frustrating, or great but not quite what I needed.
So I started building my own.
The first one was the Quick Lock Pro, a PCB holder I designed because every holder I owned was either too big, too fiddly, or didn’t hold the board solid. Since then, ProtoCrate has grown into a small line of tools I actually use on my own bench every day.
How we work
- Designed and assembled in California. Our own tools are built and checked in-house before they ship.
- Genuine parts. Our electronics use components sourced from DigiKey and Mouser, not mystery chips.
- Tested before we sell it. If it doesn’t meet my standards on my own bench, it doesn’t go in the store.
- Real support. When you email us, you’re talking to the person who designed the product.
Our promise
If something isn’t right, we fix it. That’s why every order comes with 90-day free returns, and why we often ship replacement parts the same day you contact us.

I build ProtoCrate in public, sharing new designs, prototypes, and the mistakes along the way.
