QUICK LOCK PRO – Precision PCB Holder for Soldering

Lock your PCB in seconds — The Quick Lock Pro is a precision PCB holder built for engineers and makers who demand more from their bench tools.

Stainless Steel Rails Smooth, corrosion-resistant rails give you effortless board positioning. Slide your PCB into place and lock it down in seconds.

Machined Aluminum Jaws CNC machined from aluminum with V-shaped grips that bite into your board's edge and hold it exactly where you put it.

Quick Lock Mechanism A cam-driven, one-finger locking mechanism lets you swap boards in seconds — Load, lock, solder. That's it.

Built for Real Work Whether you're prototyping, reworking, or assembling — the Quick Lock Pro holds boards from small modules up to full-size PCBs firmly in place so you can focus on the work.

One-handed quick locking

One-handed quick-lock levers allow PCBs to be clamped and released instantly, reducing setup time and keeping both hands free for soldering and rework.

Close-up of Quick Lock Pro one-stainless steal rail

Smooth linear motion

Stainless steel linear rails provide smooth, controlled positioning, allowing clamps to slide easily and remain aligned without play.

Close-up of Quick Lock Pro one-handed quick-lock front jaw

Machined aluminum jaw

Low-profile aluminum jaws securely grip PCBs up to 3 mm thick without blocking components or solder pads.

The jaw head rotates, allowing easy alignment and access from any angle.

Knob adjustment

Knobs provide fine control over jaw locking and rail clamping force.

Very good quality product. Got one and after I used it, I I immediately put the second order in. Now waiting on the second one so I can use both together for the larger PCB. Highly recommended

One handed tightening mechanism is loose. The rubber does not hit the metal slider make it not ideal for soldering. Only one of the mechanisms came in working. Unfortunately it seems that there isn’t any quality control on the mechanism before the send it out. This is my unboxing experience

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback and the video — it's genuinely helpful.

Sorry for the inconvenience. After looking into this further, it looks like one of the stoppers on your unit had a defect that kept the screw from gripping it properly, which is why the tightening mechanism wasn't working on that side. This wasn't a manufacturing standard we're okay with, and we're looking into how it slipped through our QC process.

We've already discussed a fix for this specific order. If anyone else runs into a similar issue, please reach out to us at support@protocrate.com with your order number and we'll take care of it right away.

Thanks again for the honest review — it helped us catch this.

I will recommend the product.

Wow! What a great time saver!! I have several PCB holders that I rarely use because they are so big! This Protocrate PCB holder is sized perfectly!!
Plus, the support is top notch!! I broke a part after stress testing a bit... I informed Protocrate what I did (hoping to just help the next gen), and they sent to me the replacement part that same day!! This kind of support is "above and beyond".

I have already communicated this to the maker team... I ended up getting a refund for the board holder for only one reason.. the towers that hold the board are not tall enough to reliably work with 6" or 8" boards. I did not even think about this until I got it here and realized a radio board I was working on would not fit and allow me the access that I needed. When I tried a smaller board I felt the design was solid and worked well. I have also told the designers that if they ever build one that has towers that are 2.5" to 3" taller (with maybe some slightly wider legs), I will be right there buying it. It is a great design and works just as they show... it is just too short! '73

Thanks for the detailed feedback, and for reaching out to us directly. Glad the design held up on the boards it did fit. We are working on offering taller units to accept taller boards. Sorry this one didn't work out for your radio project, but appreciate you giving it a shot! We'll make sure you hear about it if/when the taller version is available.

I’m extremely impressed with both the ProtoCrate PCB holder and the customer service behind it.

I work as a Teaching Assistant in a college electronics lab and oversee our soldering projects, so I regularly work with PCB holders and soldering equipment. I purchased a ProtoCrate PCB holder for myself, and after using it, I was genuinely impressed with the design.

The holder feels solid, well-built, and thoughtfully designed. It holds the PCB securely while still making it very easy to position and reposition the board while soldering. It’s simple to use, practical, and feels like a tool that was designed by someone who actually understands what you need when working on electronics. After trying it, I immediately started considering ProtoCrate holders as a possible replacement for the ones we currently use in our electronics lab.

The customer service has been equally impressive. I reached out to ProtoCrate about the possibility of purchasing a larger quantity for our lab, and Isai, the owner, responded incredibly quickly. He was friendly, helpful, answered all of my questions about educational and bulk purchasing, and went above and beyond to help us evaluate the best option for our students and soldering stations.

It’s refreshing to find a company where you get both a great product and genuinely great customer service.

I’m very happy with my purchase and would absolutely recommend ProtoCrate to anyone who regularly works with PCBs, soldering, electronics repair, prototyping, or electronics education.

Excellent product, excellent design, and outstanding customer service. Highly recommended!

Paid for a medium Quik Lock Pro over a week ago and still don't have the item or tracking information. I'm going to wait a few more days before I call my credit card company for a charge back.

Hi Charles, we're sorry for the delay and the frustration it caused. We had an unexpected fulfillment issue a few weeks ago that pushed back a batch of shipments, including yours. We've already shipped the majority of the delayed orders and yours will go out today. We're back to our normal 1-2 day shipping and have sent you an email with more details — thanks for your patience.

Incredibly well built device. Be careful though, don't let either holder arm slide off the rail. If you do, the bearings will everywhere. BY THE WAY, excellent customer service department.

High quality product, best of the ones i have tried. Suggestions: Taller holders (on the same rails), Strong Magnet in the feed to grip to metallic surface instead/in addition to the rubber feet that do not hold all that great, Third hand accessories in addition to the holder, at least 2 bendable necks with alligator jaws to assist. Make then attachable to the rail or on a longer rail

Ronin Ricker

Ingenious idea, slides very smoothly being linear bearings. The materials feel solid and the price feels low for how well it works. There are also a few little things you can tune to make it work best for you.

good and useful tool

very well made. I'd suggest deeper grooves in the pieces that grip the board. Also, the arms slid off the rail, and the box was full of loose ball bearings. fortunately, I salvaged most a got them back in place

Hi John, thanks for the feedback — noted on the deeper grip grooves for a future revision.

Sorry the arms slid off the rail in transit and the bearings came loose. Glad you got everything back in place. We're developing custom foam inserts to keep the unit secure during shipping so this doesn't happen again.

Cool design. Love the attention to detail. Hope you will make a bigger version to accommodate larger production size boards in not too distant future.

In mean time; sweet little piece of kit for proto work; not cumbersome like most PCB holders. Pleasure to use.

Very good product, definitely beating any standard board holders.

This is the best board holder I’ve ever owned. Love it!

Love it. I do wish it were a bit taller (an inch?) and had 5 more inches in width capacity. It works great for some HDD PCB work. I also wish snapping the rollers to the rail caused some compression towards the PCB; kind of easy to accidentally one-handed lock it loose enough to slide along the grip's teeth axis. But otherwise extremely nice product and no regrets.

This is a very high quality unit. I really enjoyed it's versatility and the build quality is top notch! Thanks to this unit, I started soldering my small circuit boards again. Works really well for my 1/2" x 2" circuit boards. Thanks again for this quality item!

I tried a variety of DIY solutions to hold PCBs for soldering and they were all terrible. This is the tool I was looking for! One of my favorite pieces of kit!

Great product - I have two.
I had a slight concern about jaw alignment on the first, but with some support and guidance from the business owner, all was quickly resolved. Great customer service, but you will most likely not need it.
